SUMMARY:The Confession of Belhar Study
DESCRIPTION:The Saturday morning Confessions Study Group\, led by Rev David Beary\, Ph.D.\, will begin studying the Confession of Belhar on Saturday\, August 1st\, from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. The Confession was written in South Africa in 1982\, adopted by the Dutch Reformed Mission Church in 1986\, and added to the PC(USA)’s Book of Confessions in 2016. Arising out of the Dutch Reformed Church’s theological defense of apartheid\, the confession focuses on themes of unity\, reconciliation\, and justice. The Special Committee on the Confession of Belhar recommended that the Presbyterian Church (USA) add Belhar as part of its Constitution because it believed the clarity of Belhar’s witness… might help the PC(USA) speak and act with similar clarity at a time when it faces division\, racism\, and injustice. \nFor Information and to join contact David Beary.

DESCRIPTION:Anaheim First\, Canvas\, St. Mark Presbyterian Churches will be marching in the OC Pride Parade on October 10th under the banner “Affirming Churches of the Los Ranchos Presbytery” and joyfully invite anyone who wishes to join to come along! The cost of marching has already been covered\, so the more the merrier – truly! If you’d like to help represent our presbytery at our booth during the festival\, please let us know on the registration form.
