Two-nights single occupancy with meals is $360, but there are many other participation options available: https://losranchos.org/pastors-retreat-february-14-16-2022/. Of course, all CDHS regulations will be carefully followed.
Matt Skinner from “Working Preacher” podcast fame will be the presenter. In addition to his teaching at Luther Seminary, he serves rigorously at his local church, which gives him first-hand experience of what pastors are going through. Please register today.
Full Retreat Description: The pandemic has made many church leaders exhausted for many reasons, but one acute reason is the sense of uncertainty about where our congregational and communal life is headed. What does and will it mean to gather, to host, to collaborate, and to conduct ministry as the integrated body of Christ? How can we be open to change and to the Spirit’s ability to surprise and remake us, even as we hold on to core, longstanding convictions we share about God’s faithfulness and the church’s mission? The Acts of the Apostles is one place to look, for that book tells a story full of newness and adventure while refusing to disconnect itself from some foundational commitments about what it means to be the church. We will take time to gather around Acts to explore how it calls readers to remember and dream. We will consider what Acts has to say to us about the church, its leaders, its persistent challenges, and the God who accompanies it. Together we will examine this book’s ability to open us up to an unknown and emerging future in the confidence that God will meet us there, as certainly as God has in the past.
