January 19th, 7 PM
Irvine Presbyterian Church
Readers of the Bible are often drawn to Jesus’ message and ministry, but they are not as positively inclined toward Paul. What should people who love Jesus do with Paul? Dr. J.R. Daniel Kirk, Assistant Professor of New Testament at Fuller Theological Seminary, offers a fresh and timely engagement of the debated relationship between Paul’s writings and the portrait of Jesus contained in the Gospels. He integrates the messages of Jesus and Paul with one another and with the Old Testament. After laying out the narrative contours of the Christian life, Dr. Kirk provides fresh perspectives on challenging issues facing today’s world, from environmental concerns to social justice to homosexuality.
Copies of the book will be available for purchase following Dr. Kirk’s presentation.
This event will be held at Irvine Presbyterian Church, and is co-sponsored by Fuller Seminary California Coast.
